Comments on Management Practices

They were introduced successfully to the Puget Sound area of Washington. This is a good pan fish for anglers. Pollution control favors both rock bass and smallmouth bass *835,1314,1579,2972,2973*. It incorporates background mercury during growth *1200*. When the population is thinned there is a marked linear increase in growth *1200*. They are less widely distributed than formerly because of siltation and general deterioration of water quality *1310*. In Michigan, poisoning an overcrowded lake with Rotenone reduced the density of fish, which resulted in increased growth *6475*.
