Comments on Management Practices

This species is good forage for game fishes, and is occasionally caught by anglers. There is little potential interest in this species for management *835,1485,1486*. High fecundity and high mortality is advant- ageous to the management of lakes for predatory game fish. Small pop- ulation of adults are sufficient to produce large numbers of small forage fish without using a major part of the fish food production of the lake to maintain an adult population *1486*.
