
This years meeting was hosted by Three Lakes Nature Center & Aquarium. As far as "Nature Centers" are concerned, Three Lakes Nature Center & Aquarium is in a league of its own, due to the quantity and quality of their exhibits and very knowledgeable staff. The VHS would like to thank Tom Thorp, Bekky Monroe, Wade Harrell & Crystal Bradley for their help and gracious hospitality. The VHS would also like to thank all members, presenters, student presenters. Special thanks to our keynote speaker Dr. Reid Harris.
Congratulations to Ben Weinstein, University of Richmond for winning first place in the Richard L. Hoffman Award with his presentation titled, "Genetic Variation in a Widespread Southeast Asian Frog - The Polypedates leucomsytax Complex". Stephen De Lisle, University of Virginia was awarded second place for his presentation titled, "Female Responses to Male-biased Sex Ratio in a Pond-breeding Amphibian" and Aaron Bloch, University of Virginia received third place for his presentation titled, "Reproduction Costs of Migrating for Males in a Partially Migratory Population of Red-Spotted Newts, Notophthalmus viridescens".

Congratulations to A. Scott Morris, William & Mary for winning first place in the Franklin J. Tobey Award with his poster titled, "BRDs...Great for Terps, Great for Crabbers". Second place was awarded to Erica Rutherford, Longwood University for her poster titled, "A Survey of Herpetological Diversity and Behavior in Piedmont Early-Successional Habitat".

Our keynote speaker Dr. Reid Harris, of James Madison University, did a presentation about some of his exciting research to help combat amphibian decline, by studying amphibian skin bacteria that can interact with the lethal skin fungus, Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis, or Chytrid fungus.
