  • The intermost toe is webbed to toe disc.
  • Usually 1.5 or fewer (rarely 2) terminal phalanges of the 4th hind toe free of webbing.
  • When hindlimb adpressed, heel does not reach shout.
  • Strip on rear of thigh has an indistinct edge.
  • Distribution in Virginia more widespread than gryllus.
  • The intermost toe is not webbed to toe disc.
  • Usually 2 or more (often 3 or more) terminal phalanges of the 4th hind toe free of webbing.
  • When hindlimb adpressed, heel extends beyond shout.
  • Strip on rear of thigh has a distinct edge.
  • Distribution in Virginia limited to the southeast portion of the state.
