| A unique, state-of-the-art comprehensive information system for
California's wildlife. It includes a habitat classification
system, computerized habitat relationships models for 650 species
of regularly occurring amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals,
and a series of supporting publications. |
| PURPOSE OF THE DATABASE: |

| CWHR is used by wildlife biologists and natural resource
specialists to provide information on the life history, geographic
distribution, habitat relationships, and legal status for
California's wildlife. To provide wildlife resource information
needed to comply with regulations of the California Board of
Forestry and the California Water Resources Control Board.
