COMMENTS REGARDING DATASET USE CONSTRAINTS:
Due to the dynamic nature and sensitivity of the data, this information should not be used for any project other than that for which it was originally intended. It may be necessary to request updated material to base planning decisions on the most current information. Information provided may not be used by another organization or person for resale. Any person or organization who does offer this information for resale will be barred from receiving any new information. Organizations which have entered into cooperative agreements with the Indiana Natural Heritage Data Center agree not to provide the information to third parties without the express written consent of the Indiana Natural Heritage Data Center.
DATA ACCURACY:
DATA QUALITY INFORMATION (How accurate is the information?):
Please note that the Indiana Natural Heritage Data Center relies on the observations of many individuals for our data. In most cases, the information is not the result of comprehensive field surveys conducted at particular sites. Therefore, a statement that there are no documented significant natural features at a site should not be interpreted to mean that the site does not support special plants or animals.
QUALITY ASSURANCE/QUALITY CONTROL MEASURES USED:
Reports of endangered and threatened species are reviewed by staff ecologists for verification. The information is entered into the database by an assistant data manager. The Information Manager then quality controls entered data for completeness, consistency, and accuracy.
ATTRIBUTE ACCURACY, LOGICAL CONSISTENCY, COMPLETENESS & LINEAGE:
The information is as complete as the reports received.
