| DATABASE ABSTRACT (A brief summary of the data set): |
| Database is part of a database network of Heritage Programs in all
fifty states, many Canadian provinces, and foreign countries.
Heritage Program databases are used on the Biological and
Conservation Database (BCD), a standardized database used by
Natural Heritage Program. A list of rare, threatened, and
endangered species and natural communities has been developed and
occurrences are monitored (194 animal species, 220 plants,
111 natural communities).

conservation planning, and for providing information to the
scientific community and the public.
