COMMENTS ON HABITAT ASSOCIATIONS -
A bottom fish, living in deep slope waters along the continental shelves.
In the western North Atlantic, it has been taken in trawls from depths of
622-1976 m, although the depth of regular occurrence on the Nova Scotian
slope area was about 731 m. Although not commonly captured by commercial
fishing, there is evidence that it is not uncommon at depths of 731-1097 m
*258*.
