PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: length 4.8-5.8 m; head is 1/5 total
body length, with a pronounced beak; color is black dorsally, gray
ventrally, and slate gray on the sides, often with yellow or pink spots;
flippers are dark and located low on the body; dorsal fin is small,
falcate and located on the latter 1/3 of the back; vertebral formula:
C7+T10+L11+Ca18=46; phalangeal formula: I:2; II:4; III:4; IV:3; V:2;
there is a pair of teeth at the end of the lower jaw *1043,2094,1037*:
REPRODUCTION: breeding season is winter and spring; gestation period is
