LIFE HISTORY
PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: length=13 feet (4 m); black above and
lighter below; blunt snout without beak; dorsl fin is tall, pointed and
falcate; adults are covered with scars which may be caused by attacks by
other Grampus or large squid; there are 2-7 teeth on each side of the
lower jaw; teeth are 3.5 cm long and 1.5 cm in diameter; vertebral
formula C7+T12-13+L18-19+Ca30-31=68-69; the first 6 cervical vetebrae
are fused; phalangeal formula is I:2, II:8-10, III:5, IV:2-5, V:1
