- What level is the course? Advanced senior level and above. While others may receive a passing grade, full scale comprehension of the course will be best achieved by advanced and experienced students.
- What's the textbook? Except for the ebook, Peculiar Manor, all required content is available via the web site. Forest Faunal Systems, the draft Rural System Business Plan and over 800 additional files are available to you. You are encouraged to use the Internet and all available local library resources and, of course, those of appropriate affiliated agencies.
- Why so much emphasis on the definition of wildlife? Precise use of words is fundamental to developing sound theory. Theory for our field is badly needed. The field is so broad and has so many different participants, clarity is essential to avoid confusion, basic disagreements and misunderstandings. Precise use must start with the very name of what we are about doing.
- I want to learn about wild animals. Why is there not more about them in the course? There is much about them, especially their management. You can learn much more about them in biology and zoology courses. This is not a "large wild animal and wildflower" course. Use www.google.com to search for each species of interest. This is a course with population, resource, and managerial emphases.
- Who is the instructor? Instructors change. Check with Trauger or Evans. Giles has been preparing the web site course material for about 7 years. He'll keep editing and adding to it during your time together. Dr. Trauger has teamed with Dr. Evans and they will be the primary personal contacts for all types of correspondence via e-mail.
