Comments about the Treveys

The two people shown above and on the main pages of The Trevey, a unit of Lasting Forests, are Anna and Joseph Trevey of Lynchburg, Virginia. Anna Trevey is 89 years old (1999). This Web site unit seeks to honor the Treveys.

Anna Rinsland Trevey was born to George and Lena Rinsland in Hinton, West Virginia, in 1910. She worked in her father's barber and beauty shop and lived a difficult life. Largely as a "single parent", she raised two sons, George R. and Robert H. Jr. A devout Lutheran, she taught in nursery classes, sang in the choir, and has been a mainstay of the Lynchburg church. She owned and operated Anna's Beauty Shop in Lynchburg for many years. She continues an active life within the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church of Lynchburg.

She married Joseph Oscar Trevey in 1986. Joe was a wood-buyer for Mead Paper Company and worked with that corporation for over 40 years. A tree farmer, loyal church member, church councilman, cautious investor, and philanthropist to the church, he died March 5, 1995. Born July 27, 1913, to John Joseph Trevey and Olive Airhart Trevey, Joe was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Kizer Trevey. He has one nephew, John L. Trevey Jr., of Fairfax, Virginia.
