1. Wildlife management is the art and science of producing game and other wild animals.

Perhaps this was once the definition but art and science are not very limiting. They include almost everything. Science in this area of work may not be the most appropriate; there are many more relevant domains. Producing was appropriate when populations were low but may not be when a constant supply or population reductions are needed. Emphasis is no longer on game, not on animals themselves, but benefits from all wild animals (and perhaps someday plants will be included).
Re-learn the long but recommended definition:
Wildlife management (or preferably wild faunal resource management) means
making decisions and taking actions
to manupulate the structure, dynamics, and relations of
wild animal populations, faunal space, and people
to achieve specific stated human objectives by means of the faunal resource.
