Geocaching, the popular sport where participants use Geographic Positioning
Systems to find hidden treasure troves of goodies using clues. We first
reported on geocaching in our November
2001 Remotely Wild newsletter, and since then the sport has gained in
popularity and the number of geocache locations (currently they are hidden
in 177 countries). There are even ways to purchase discounted GPS equipment
(see www.geocaching.com) and efforts to clean up the area with a Cache In
Trash Out program.
