Anchorage, AK ¾ It is November when elections abound, and our working group is no different. We recently broke with standard procedures and held an emergency electronic election for the Chairman position…the votes poured in from members around the globe and definitely we picked a winner! Now we need to chose a Chair-elect and Secretary/Treasurer. Chair-elect serves as Vice-Chairman for 2 years and then becomes Chairman for the following 2 years.
Secretary/Treasurer does all the dirty work, keeping track of membership and expenditures. Each elected position runs for a 2-year term. Four candidates (2 for each position) were nominated at TWS Buffalo. Our 3-person "Nominations and Elections" Committee, currently chaired by Jane Austin, contacted each nominee.
This article serves as the general membership election announcement. A 30-day period must follow this announcement before votes can be tallied. Votes must be received by December 15th. The new officers will announced in our early 1999 newsletter. Candidate biosketches begin on the next page (page 7). Please take the time now to review candidate information and cast your vote. You can clip the ballot out below and mail your vote in, you can use the electronic ballot sent to members through FWIM-L and TWS-L, or you can visit the website and vote there. It couldn’t be easier!
