Las Vegas, NV ¾ The working group
has formally proposed a half-day symposium "Innovations in Home Range Analysis"
to be held at the 6th
Annual Conference of the Wildlife Society in 1999 in Austin, Texas.
The purpose of this symposium is to allow TWS members, especially student
members, exposure to the latest innovations and techniques in home range
analysis, as well as exposure to the appropriateness of when and where
to use such tools.
If the proposal is accepted, we are planning to have a mixture of invited papers, as well as a few papers selected from a competitive call for bids. Currently we have several speakers in mind, but we would like to solicit input from our members as to who the innovators in this field are. So if you have anybody in mind, please let us know. We are looking for a well-balanced symposium, so both proponents and opponents of new methods and technology will be equally valuable.
As soon as we know the status of the proposal, we will let everyone know. In the meantime, if you have any suggestions as to speakers, please contact Darren Divine at divine@ccmail.nevada.edu, or at (702) 895-1564.
