Scientific Name: Lithobates sylvatica (Wood Frog) formerly Rana sylvatica
Etymology:
Genus: Lithobates is Greek, Litho means "A stone", bates means "One that walks or haunts."
 Species: sylvaticus is Latin meaning "amidst the trees".
Average Length: 1.4 - 2.8 in. (3.5 - 7 cm)

Record length: 3.3 in. (8.3 cm)
