Comments on General Food Habits

44* Attends ants swarms (Mays 1985). 45* Hunts both by ambush and by active pursuit, flying and running wiht amazing speed and agility through dense understory; ascends into canopy to call, mainly at dawn and dusk; eats large lizards, rodents, birds up to chachalaca-size, sometimes large insects; follows army ants to capture invertebrates stirred up by them.
