• The numbers represent presence only for species that have been reported to ocur in each quadrant.
• Knowledge gaps are suggested by quadrants where only a small number of species have been reported.
• For ornithologists or birders wishing to contribute to the knowledge of bird distributions in Belize it is suggested that quadrants with low numbers be selected for field work.
• Distributions of shorebirds and seabirds are among the poorest known, particularly for many of the offshore islands.
