• This map does not indicate presence/absence of mammal species known for Belize. The numbers represent presence only for species that have been reported to ocur in each quadrant.
• Knowledge gaps are suggested by quadrants where only a small number of species have been reported.
• While the disitibution knowledge of the bats found in Belize is rapidly expanding, much work remains to be done on rodents and other small and secretive mammals such as shrews.
