Photo Interpretation: Pinus
thunbergii is found in many isolated patches on Fire Island. It is often used
to stabilize the fore dune - especially on the eastern end of the island and
around human communities. This type appears very similar to the Pitch Pine Dune
Woodland but is usually more continuous.
