Recycling

Call to action. As a result of the budget cuts, the university decided to discontinue the pick-up of paper in all academic buildings on campus. Groups of volunteers have begun working with Virginia Tech Recycling (VTR) to replace the bins that used to be in class buildings and to pick up the paper on a weekly basis.

We load these and drive them to the overflow parkinglot.

What we need to do. The Wildlife Society has adopted Cheatham hall and sorts and collects its waste paper each week. It's a fun process that takes no more than one hour. We get to use a big cart and go to each of the ten groups of bins (for office paper, newspaper, and magazines) in the building. In addition to helping the environment, getting involved with the recycling committee is a great way to meet other professors and staff of the College of Natural Resources. They are all very grateful for your hard work and initiative.

So come on out and help reduce, reuse, and recycle!!
