Terrarium

The Wildlife Society maintains two terrariums, both located on the first floor of Cheatham Hall. They function as educational and attractive displays to raise awareness about wildlife and promote The Wildlife Society at Virginia Tech. Live animals such as newts, turtles and snakes have been kept in it; in addition to displays about Wildlife Society projects. By showcasing projects, The Wildlife Society hopes to stimulate interest in and awareness of the many opportunities for student involvement at Virginia Tech.

Past projects:

  • Northern Fence Lizards - Thanks to Amy Roberts, Wildlife Society member and Biology graduate student, we had 7 Northern Fence Lizards in the terrarium in the lobby.
  • Corn Snake - Courtesy of Lauren Hoffstetter a Corn Snake lived in the Hall Terrarium. It's shed skin was taped above the display window.
  • Nothern Bobwhite Quail - We had four Bobwhite Quail chicks on display. They were raised from eggs and visitors to Cheatham Hall could watch them as they grew.
